Swiss Darning

Swiss Darning Workshop Wednesday 12th June
£35.00

Wednesday 12th June, 6 - 8pm.

Join me at Catherine Waters Antiques in Ashburton for an evening of Swiss darning. Also known as duplicate stitch, swiss darning rebuilds the classic stocking stitch on knitwear. It can be done visibly, or invisibly depending on the nature of the mend.

This is a more advanced skill than basic woven darning. If you’re a beginner I’d recommend started with the classic Darning Workshop and then moving onto Further Darning or Swiss Darning, depending on what you’d like to learn. This session is suitable for anyone wanting to develop their Darning skills to a more detailed level.

All materials with be provided, but if you’d like advice on repairing certain items do bring them along!
