Introduction to Visible Mending @ John Arbon Open Mill Weekend

  • South Molton Town Hall 5 Broad Street South Molton EX36 6AB United Kingdom (map)

The visible mending movement is all about sharing and celebrating acts of repair. In this class you'll learn the traditional skill of darning with a contemporary twist, with Molly Rooke from Darn Good Studio in Exeter.

Use colourful yarns and threads to accentuate and celebrate your mends. Participants will learn how to darn on a knitted sampler, with all materials included.

Skill Level Information: For beginners and / or any skill level, or anyone who wants a refresher on darning.

What is included? You will receive a visible mending starter kit with hoop, needles and a few threads to keep - additional shades of thread, and a swatch of fabric will be provided during the workshop to practice with. You will also receive a complimentary voucher for a beverage from the pop-up MOW café.

What do students need to bring? Please bring along anything you would like advice on mending, otherwise all materials are provided.
